Kimberly Erickson, Acting Assistant Deputy Secretary for Communications

Kimberly Erickson has been designated Acting Deputy Secretary for Communications at the California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA), after having acted as the Assistant Deputy Secretary since August 2024. Kimberly previously served as Caltrans’ Chief of Staff to the Director as the department navigated the COVID-19 pandemic. Before joining the California State Transportation Agency, she also served as Statewide Division Chief for Caltrans Right of Way and Land Surveys, Chief Public Information Officer for Caltrans’ District 3 Office, and Caltrans’ Deputy District 7 Director of External Affairs for Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. As Deputy District 7 Director of External Affairs, she was responsible for communications, legislative affairs, media relations and public outreach for Carmageddon II, the transport of the Space Shuttle Endeavour to the California Science Center and the I-5 Corridor projects.
