The California State Transportation Agency issued the final guidelines and a call for projects for the 2020 Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program (TIRCP).
Draft guidelines were released on September 13, 2019, and two public workshops were conducted after the 30-day review period. The application deadline is January 16, 2020.
The TIRCP funds projects that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and benefit disadvantaged communities by expanding public transportation ridership and capacity. Applicants may receive a portion of an estimated $450-$500 million of funding available to the TIRCP during the FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25 time period to fund transformative capital improvements to California’s transportation infrastructure.
Grant recipients will be announced by April 1, 2020.
